President

Matthew P. Kaplan

President

Background: Matthew has dedicated over a decade to the healthcare industry, advocating fiercely for the empowerment of independent providers. He co-founded Patriot Health Partners, the largest management services company for independent practices in Northern New England. He spearheaded Patriot Pay, a groundbreaking platform aimed at increasing payment rates from patients. Additionally, Matthew serves as a senior advisor for The Delphi Group, a commercial bundle payment company, and mentors various start-ups in the business realm.

Education: Matthew pursued higher education at the University of New Hampshire, earning a B.S. in Geosciences, focusing on analytics and paleomagnetism. Matthew was a pivotal member of their Division I football team during his time at UNH. He achieved notable milestones, such as holding the sack record for Defensive Linemen and earning two all-conference selections in his junior and senior seasons. He was also recognized as the national defensive player of the week (across all levels) during week 13 of his senior year. Following a brief consulting stint, Matthew returned to academia to obtain a Master’s in Business Administration with a specialization in Health Care from Southern New Hampshire University.

For Fun: Matthew spends most of his time outside the office with his wife and two daughters, taking walks, playing in the yard, or going on weekend road trips. Outside of family time, Matthew can be found doing landscaping or general projects around the house.

Cheryl Nelson

Senior Advisor

Background: Cheryl Nelson brings over 35 years of experience in revenue cycle and client account management to her role. Known for her unwavering dedication to client satisfaction, Cheryl excels in building and maintaining relationships at all organizational levels, and she has a proven history of implementing successful process improvements. In her previous career stops, Cheryl was the Vice President of Client Services at Koha Health, where she was instrumental in developing a top-tier account management team. Before this, she spent more than 13 years at athenahealth, where she made significant contributions to client account management and revenue cycle operations.

Education: Cheryl was a dual major at the University of Massachusetts for Business Administration and Russian Linguistics with an eye towards becoming an interpreter at the UN. She found her true calling in healthcare fighting for small practices.

For fun: When not in the office, you can find Cheryl in the sand bunker, the rough, or missing a three-foot putt for birdie. When she is not on the golf course, Cheryl loves to bake specialty cakes, sew, and playing with her granddaughter.

Jordin Newport

Senior Director, Client Engagement

Background: With a career rooted in healthcare administration, Jordin embarked on her professional journey at Salem Clinic in Salem, Oregon. Here, she delved into the intricacies of insurance accounts receivable, diligently navigating through payer denials and rectifying incorrect payment adjustments. Jordin’s relentless pursuit of accountability led her to spearhead efforts with contracted payers, meticulously outlining errors and collaborating with directors and payer contracting leads to drive resolutions. Upon relocating to New Hampshire, Jordin gained employment at Orchard Medical Management, where she assumed leadership within revenue cycle management. Here, she orchestrated operational workflows, aligning them seamlessly with client needs. Progressing through the ranks, Jordin now proudly serves as the Senior Director of Client Engagement, a role that sees her at the forefront of fostering meaningful relationships with clients. She meticulously outlines and executes the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth transition and optimal engagement for our new partners. In addition to client engagement, Jordin takes charge of system migrations, providing a smooth implementation process. With a track record of implementing eight different EMR/PM systems for OMM’s clients, she brings a wealth of experience in navigating complex transitions and optimizing system functionality to meet evolving healthcare needs.

Education: Jordin hails from the picturesque city of Salem, OR, where she attended North Salem High School. Embarking on her educational journey, Jordin enrolled at the University of Oregon (go Ducks!), initially studying Psychology before transitioning to the Physical Therapist Assistant program. As her academic pursuits flourished, Jordin concurrently launched her career at Salem Clinic, a renowned institution acclaimed for its excellence in primary care and multi-specialty services. With a blend of academic acumen and hands-on experience, Jordin is dedicated to providing compassionate and effective healthcare solutions to its healthcare partners and community, embodying the spirit of service and commitment to excellence.

For Fun: Jordin is an avid gamer and enjoys playing on the weekends. She’s been a musician for twenty years, now primarily playing piano. Jordin was an active marching band member throughout her education. While attending the University of Oregon, she was a member of the Oregon Marching Band. She attended two Rose Bowls, a National Championship, and countless other away games and bowl trips. She is currently engaged and will be married in February 2025, although her first love will always be her dogs!

Lisa Neefe

Vice President, Revenue Cycle

Background: Lisa started in healthcare in 1997, but likes to say she cut her teeth in revenue cycle at Mass General Physicians Organization at the turn of the century. She has roughly five years of hospital billing experience and more than twenty-two years of physician billing. Her specialization in high-volume, low-dollar claims and her training as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt has led her to consult for behemoth clients like Trinity Health and CVS. She preaches the importance of consistency, speed, accuracy, and feedback to the client for the success of the revenue cycle.

Education: Lisa grew up in Western Massachusetts and attended Plymouth State College, where she studied accounting and business. She went on to become a serial entrepreneur, starting, growing, and selling several small businesses, including a gourmet caramel corn factory in Fairbanks, Alaska, a cooking school for children in Derry, NH, and a revenue cycle consulting company.

For Fun: Lisa finds that nearly everything fun can be found out of doors: hiking, kayaking, chasing butterflies with her young grandchildren, or camping with her family. However, she spends a great deal of time digging dirt, picking stones in her extensive flower beds, and cooking beautiful meals. Additionally, Lisa enjoys intellectual conversation, reading anything, and solving puzzles.

Melissa Roy

Director of Revenue Operations

Background: With over twenty-five years of extensive experience, Melissa is a seasoned revenue cycle director specializing in revenue management and strategic planning to optimize financial performance across various seasons or periods. Her role involves overseeing revenue operations, implementing revenue-generating strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. By analyzing revenue trends and customer behavior, she develops targeted initiatives to enhance revenue streams and maximize profitability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is pivotal in driving comprehensive revenue cycle management, including billing, collections, and financial reporting. Additionally, she prioritizes process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance revenue cycle efficiency. With a focus on innovation and data-driven decision-making, Melissa aims to contribute significantly to achieve revenue targets and sustain financial growth throughout the seasonal cycles.

Education: Melissa was born and raised in Loudon, New Hampshire, where she attended Merrimack Valley High School. After graduating high school, she decided to work full-time in a small practice, performing registration, answering phones, and checking in patients. She quickly developed a passion for the revenue cycle and was motivated to learn all its aspects. Through the years, she advanced her job training from cash posting, AR management, and revenue cycle analysis to include her most recent EPIC PB resolute administration certification.

For Fun: In addition to enjoying her four dogs, Melissa loves spending time with her two boys and husband of twenty-four years. They enjoy exploring New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont on their motorcycle or just taking a drive to see all the beautiful natural sites. Their favorite sport is cutting down trees in people’s yards.

Financial Management

Nicholas Cashorali

Senior Director, Finance Operations

Background: Nick has fifteen years of experience in corporate finance in multiple industries, including manufacturing, supply chain logistics, and software as a service. He is a certified project manager and a Six Sigma white belt. Nick is driven to develop a culture of open and honest communication in order to identify opportunities within the finance function to eliminate waste and bring efficiencies and cost-saving initiatives to all aspects of the Orchard Medical Family companies. He is an advocate for small business leaders and a supporter of private practice medical practitioners.

Education: Nick holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from Framingham State University and was a member of the Framingham State Rams hockey team.

For Fun: Nick and his family live on a small but growing hobby farm in Washington, NH. Most of his free time is spent with his wife and children outside, playing or caring for the animals.

Nathan Grenon

Senior Director, HR and Admin Services

Background: As a dedicated and results-driven professional, Nathan brings over twenty-plus years of experience in an array of HR disciplines, from employee engagement, workforce augmentation, onboarding, and payroll & benefits administration to coaching and development, all with a passion for continuous improvement and a focus on implementation of best practices. 

Education: A native of NH, Nathan attended Southern NH University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business (magna cum laude) and a master’s degree (magna cum laude) in organizational leadership with a concentration in training and development. Additionally, he has a graduate certificate in human resource management. 

For fun: Nathan enjoys time with family, catching a movie, spending time at the beach, or playing car karaoke roulette on road trips.

Tracy Mears

Revenue Cycle Supervisor

As a Revenue Cycle Supervisor at Orchard Medical Management, Tracy brings over two decades of healthcare industry expertise to the table. With a career that started in 2003 as a Medical Assistant in a family practice, Tracy spent 15 years mastering patient care before transitioning to medical billing, where she discovered a passion for optimizing revenue cycles.

Since joining Orchard Medical Management in 2021, Tracy has immersed herself in the intricacies of Revenue Cycle Management, contributing significantly to the company’s success and growth.

Outside of work, Tracy enjoys spending quality time with her two children, Parker and Mila, and their beloved dog, Gus. She also indulges her passion for travel, exploring new destinations whenever possible.

With a commitment to excellence and a genuine dedication to healthcare, Tracy strives to make a positive impact in her role, ensuring both financial success and high-quality patient care at Orchard Medical Management.
